ABC London will be published a week today on the 7th June by Frances Lincoln! Written by James Dunn and illustrated by some loon with a pair of scissors and a glue-stick, it has already had a nice mention in the Bookseller:
This unusual alphabet picture book really caught my eye. Celebrating London's unique, diverse culture with entries like "B for Brick Lane", it's got a contemporary feel and lots of gift book potential.
To celebrate this super occasion I'll be giving away a signed copy of the book.
All you need to do to enter is either leave a comment below or tweet all about it, including the hashtag #ABCLondon, so I can find you! (You can do both for two entries.)
My first signing will be at The Book Barge (Barton Marina, Staffordshire) on Saturday 9th. There will be a London landmark themed treasure hunt with a prize! It would be lovely to see you there if you live Midlands-ward.
Future ABC London events include Just Imagine in Chelmsford, Essex on the 18th and 19th June and Under the Greenwood Tree in Clapham, London (date to be confirmed).
Here is B is for Brick Lane, C is for Changing of the Guard. As most letters are only single pages I tried to connect each side of the double spread in some way to make it into one whole illustration.
It seems so long ago that I was working on this, I remember posting this photo on Facebook...
Ah, for the days of working late into the night cutting out the word 'Beigel' in teeny tiny letters.
Competition closes at midnight BST on the 6th June. Good luck!

Thank you for the give away! I would like to enter please. Also tweeted about it.
Some of my favourite people are loons who like to cut and paste :-)
WOW. What a fab book! Absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to send it to my 1-yr old nephew in Canada who's growing up without her Aunt as I'm in London!
Oops forgot to add, I've tweeted about the book :) @KookyKaty
Hurrah! Congrats on the final book :)
tooootally taking part in this giveaway hihi. Figners crossed. Love the illustrations.
But how do you work? You make a mock-up on your computer first and then start cutting and gluing with paper? It's so interesting, but I can imagine it's a slow process at the same time. I couldn't work with this technique even if my life depended on it, hihi. ;D
Congrats with your new book!
x
