Yesterday I went to Linton Children's book festival in Cambridgeshire where I ran a magpie nest building workshop! As you can see in this photo (which I've just pinched from the book festival website) it involved a LOT of shiny sweet wrappers and Easter egg foil and was a lot of fun! The nests the children made were brilliant and much more interesting than my effort (to the right). I took my proof copy of 'Magpie's Treasure' along and it was wonderful to hear some of the parents read it to their children.
